Mentors 2017 – RVCC Mentor Program

WHAT IS THE ROLE OF A MENTOR?

A mentor is an experienced corporate professional who goes out of his or her way to help their mentee reach important life, education and career goals. A mentor is a guide who can help the mentee to find the right direction and who can help his or her mentee develop career related competencies. The mentor/mentee relationship is based upon mutual trust and respect. A mentor will help the mentee to believe in him or herself and the mentor will help to boost career-related confidence. A mentor will ask questions and challenge his or her mentee, while providing guidance and encouragement. A mentor allows the mentee to explore new ideas in confidence and to develop a broader understanding of the corporate environment.

A corporate mentor will be matched with a mentee and meet their mentee once per month at RVCC at a prescheduled time.
A corporate mentor will speak with their mentee on a monthly basis by phone or skype (that communication will be decided by the mentor and the mentee).
A mentor will attend the September 27, 2017 training program in order to understand policies, appropriate boundaries and recommended topics to review with his or her mentee.
A mentor will get to know his or her mentee, share their knowledge and be an active listener.
A mentor will serve as a resource and allocate his or her time and energy for the scheduled sessions.
A mentor will follow through on his or her commitments in order to promote a productive and enjoyable mentor/mentee relationship.

Amanda White

Senior Product Manager, Insulins Patent Marketing

Amanda White Bio

Amanda joined the organization through the Rutgers PharmD Fellowship Program in 2013 and worked on the Toujeo Professional Marketing Team through the Toujeo launch. She is currently the Senior Product Manager on the Insulins Patient Marketing team. She is responsible for communicating the benefits of Sanofi Insulin Brands to patients. Amanda develops materials, tools, and digital tactics to educate patients with diabetes management and our insulin brands. She became interested in marketing through her MBA courses, but she also has a healthcare background, so she wanted to find a way to combine the two. Amanda currently reside in Pittstown, NJ with her husband Brandon and she enjoys exercising and spending time with family and friends in her free time. She is look forward to helping a young professional navigate through their career path and establishing a relationship where her input and guidance is trusted and valued.

Chris Muller

Senior Manager, Managed Markets and Planning Government Channel

Chris Muller Bio

Born in Butler, NJ, Chris is the oldest of 3. Growing up, he enjoyed going on vacation with his family, playing sports, and playing video games. Chris always had an interest in numbers and ended up earning a Mathematics Degree from Villanova University. During his senior year, He interned at Medco Health Solutions and once Chris graduated, He was offered a job there. He has been in the Pharma industry now for over 10 years. After 5 years at Medco, Chris began working at Sanofi in June of 2012. In the past 5 years, he has had four different jobs between Managed Care Operations, Contract Development, and Government Strategy. Recently he and his wife moved into a new house and had their first baby, Courtney, this past winter. At Sanoif, Chris works with many different Stakeholders and groups in the company. He is looking forward to mentoring someone who is serious about work and looking to get on the right foot out of college. He hopes he can help influence and guide someone into a job they enjoy!

Kay Lavsi

USMA Strategic Planning and Operational Effectiveness Manager

Kay Lavsi Bio

Kay Lavsi graduated from Rutgers University with a BA in Sociology. After graduating college Kay started working on the Master Data team at Johnson and Johnson. She was there for a year before moving to New York City and becoming a teacher in New York City. Ultimately, Kay decided that teaching was not for her and returned to J&J as a Financial Analyst. During this time she also began her MBA at Lehigh University. Kay worked at J&J for four years in various Financial Analyst positions learning about product costs, budgeting and forecasting.

In 2012 Kay decided that she wanted explore Finance at another company and moved to Sanofi as a Sales Force Controller. In this role Kay was responsible for managing the budgets for the entire Sanofi Sales Force. During her time in Finance Kay was also a Controller for Advertising and Promotion for various brands and worked in the Financial Planning and Analysis group.

Last year, in 2016, Kay moved into an operations role in Market Access. In this role, she is responsible for meeting planning for the USMA team, developing and training for two new systems and well as other operational duties. Kay also completed her MBA in August of 2016 with concentrations in Finance and Supply Chain.

In her free time, Kay enjoys reading, hiking, riding her bike and traveling. Last year she visited Norway and Germany on two different vacations.

Michael Haas

Senior Manager, Strategic Pricing and Contract Management

Michael Haas Bio

Michael’s current role is executing upon commitments Sanofi has made to its customers while validating that our customers have executed upon their commitments to Sanofi. This position presented itself to him a few months ago and it is a bit of an unorthodox move because all of his training and experience has been finance related. Michael chose this industry because he truly believes the vast majority of pharmaceutical companies do tremendous good for people and he takes pride in being involved in that. Michael hopes to build a professional relationship with someone that he can help grow and answer questions. Michael is also looking forward to staying in touch with undergrads to learn what their goals and ambitions are for the future. Michael is hardworking, outgoing and outdoorsy. He likes to read about politics, current events, the economy and history. He also loves to play sports in his free time, specifically golf, basketball and volleyball. His favorite sport to watch on TV is football, especially the Pittsburgh Steelers, but hockey is his favorite sport to watch live, especially the Pittsburgh Penguins. Michael likes to continuously learn, so he is back in school part-time getting his MBA at Rutgers. He is looking forward to sharing his story and experiences.

Miriam Rego

Manager, Reverse Logisticis and Account Management

Miriam Rego Bio

Miriam Rego is a Manager in Reverse Logistics & Acct Management team in Supply Chain. She has been in this role since September 2015. Prior to this position, she was Analyst on the same team. Currently, she leads a team of five people, which she loves to do. Miriam is very much a people person and loves to develop people professionally. Miriam completed her Engineering Degree in Biotechnology in India and then completed a Master Degree in Business & Science in Drug Discovery and Development at Rutgers University in New Jersey. Currently she lives in Edison, New Jersey. She enjoys rafting, cooking, volunteering and dancing. Coming from a different culture, she knows how difficult it is to get acclimated to certain ways of doing things and also to another culture. Mariam is looking forward sharing her experiences; she firmly believes that “Nothing is impossible if you are determined”!

Brian Benhardt

Contract Development Manager U.S. Market Access

Brian Benhardt Bio

Brian is a Contract Development Manager. He graduated from Saint Joseph’s University (GO HAWKS) in 2010 with a B.S. Degree in Finance. During his time at Saint Josephs he worked in real estate and continued selling full time after he graduated. Brian feels he was fortunate enough to have an opportunity to work at Sanofi in April of 2012 working as a Contract Analyst in the Contract and Pricing department. This opportunity opened the door for several positions within Market Access. His current position as a Contract Development Manager entails writing the contract language and doing pre-deal analytics for the regional team. Over the course of his five years at Sanofi, the most rewarding part of his job has been helping provide formulary access for our products to patients who need our medicine. When Brian is not at work he enjoys being close to home. Home to me is a small town in Pennsylvania called Coopersburg where he enjoys hunting, fishing and hiking with his fiancé, Jess. They stay busy by spending time with their family, going to movies, day trips to the beach, and planning their wedding (they are getting married in November 2017).

Filomena Masullo

Lead, Training

Filomena Masullo Bio

Filomena worked for Exxon Mobil and then joined legacy Aventis in 2000. Filomena has held various positions within the North America Site Services Department where she managed and implemented move and facilities services within Bridgewater. Filomena has participated in many continuous improvement kaizens, was a member of the Service Excellence Champions and is currently part of the Sanofi Business Services Concierge team and the Onboarding Process Council. Filomena leads the new hire orientation process and efforts for NA Sanofi Business Services. She works across North America to ensure new hires are given consistent messaging and similar experiences on day one while also facilitating and coordinating the Bridgewater, NJ, Cambridge, MA and Swiftwater, PA, orientation. In her spare time she enjoys going to the beach, reading, working out and spending time with family.

Jeffrey Seguritan

Senior Manager, Performance Analytics & Reporting of U.S. Diabetes & Cardiovascular BU

Jeffrey Seguritan Bio

Jeffrey has a deep-seeded passion and curiosity for the pharmaceutical industry and an ability to channel by data-driven, detail-oriented analytical approaches to many different disciplines. His interest in the pharmaceutical industry germinated as a young pre-med student in college fascinated in science and technology. Jeffrey ultimately graduated college with a degree in biomedical engineering and healthcare management & economics. Even with that background, one of the most important things he has kept is a constant drive to learn and experiment, as this business and life in general is very dynamic and unpredictable and requires persistent adaptation. Jeffery has the responsibility to inform and enable the business leaders and sales teams to make strategic, data-driven decisions that help our drugs reach the patients who need them. Specifically, the drugs he works on are an innovative, insulin-based diabetes therapy (SOLIQUA) and a powerful biologic treatment for high cholesterol (PRALUENT). He provides both a diagnostic lens via performance analytics and dashboard reporting and a prospective lens through data exploration, hypothesis generation and statistical approaches. Jeffrey has always been fascinated with numbers and data as a child, and quickly took a liking to trying to build things and solve problems. His father was a doctor and his mother was a nurse so he also had a deep appreciation of health care providers and the noble work they do. In the end, he found a career that allows him to be analytical and proactive in problem-solving and at the same time deploy that skill and passion into the important business of health care. He is very excited to encounter young aspiring people who believe in themselves and have the foresight and humility to seek out and learn from the experiences of others.

Rachel Christofilakes

Manager, Contract Analytics

Rachel Christofilakes Bio

Rachel has over 9 years of diverse work experience, including 4 years at a regional public accounting firm in NYC before joining Sanofi in 2012. She has held roles on the Accounting & Reporting team, Sales Reporting & Analysis team, as well as in Sales Forecasting for the Winthrop & Legacy Brands team within GEM Reporting & Analytics. Her latest role is as a Manager on the Contract Analytics team supporting the Genzyme business unit, including launch brands Dupixent and Kevzara.

Rachel earned her undergraduate degree (BS in Accounting) from SUNY Binghamton in 2007, as well as a Master of Science in Analytics from Villanova School of Business in 2016. She is a member of Women Inspiring Sanofi Excellence, as well as a New York State Certified Public Accountant (CPA).

When not at work, Rachel enjoys spending time with family, friends and her lab-mix named Lucy. She is an avid coffee drinker, cheese enthusiast and dreams to one day own a gelato shop down the Jersey Shore.

Donald “Don” Jordan

Contract Development Manager

Donald "Don" Jordan Bio

Donald “Don” Jordan is currently a Contract Development Manager at Sanofi. He is originally from Moscow, PA. Don went to college at the University of Scranton, and majored in Accounting and minored in Finance. Originally, He thought he would take his degree and become an Auditor at an accounting firm. However, Don was able to earn two Sanofi internships while in school, one in the Supply Chain Department at Vaxserve, and the other in the Finance Department at Sanofi Pasteur. He used this experience to earn a full-time position at Sanofi in Intercompany Accounting, based in Bridgewater, NJ. While in that role, Don expressed interest in exploring opportunities in different departments in order to learn as much as he could. That is when Don expressed interest in Sanofi Transparency Operations and transferred to become a Reporting Specialist. He was able to use his analytical & reporting skills to assist the team with their annual report and audit techniques. From there, Don expressed interest in switching to Sanofi Sales and was allowed the opportunity to observe a sales person for the day. This helped him to realize that he would be a good fit. So, from there Don transferred to Sanofi Field Sales, as Primary Care Sales Professional or “Rep”. As this position was field based and had constant interaction with external customers, it was much different from his other “office-based” positions. He excelled as a Sales Person and enjoyed it, winning Sanofi’s Platinum Sales Award for 2016. Shortly thereafter, Don’s position was eliminated during a restructuring. Therefore, he used his past experience and transferred to Sanofi Contract Development. Here, Don was able to use his technical and customer skill set to manage contracts between Sanofi and regional Pharmaceutical Benefit Managers and Health Plans. Currently, this has been his role for about 5 months. He is working hard and learning every day to become better at what he does. He enjoys the people he works with, the company, and the opportunities it allows. Outside of the office, Don enjoys sports, music, outdoors and travel. He has a girlfriend and friends that he enjoys spending time with. In the future, Don would like to buy a house and adopt a dog!
