What is a Mentor?

A mentor is an experienced corporate professional who goes out of his or her way to help their mentee reach important life, education and career goals. A mentor is a guide who can help the mentee to find the right direction and who can help his or her mentee develop career related competencies. The mentor/mentee relationship is based upon mutual trust and respect. A mentor will help the mentee to believe in him or herself and the mentor will help to boost career-related confidence. A mentor will ask questions and challenge his or her mentee, while providing guidance and encouragement. A mentor allows the mentee to explore new ideas in confidence and to develop a broader understanding of the corporate environment.

A corporate mentor will be matched with a mentee and meet their mentee once per month at RVCC at a prescheduled time.
A corporate mentor will speak with their mentee on a monthly basis by phone or Zoom (that communication will be decided by the mentor and the mentee).
A mentor will attend the training program in order to understand policies, appropriate boundaries and recommended topics to review with his or her mentee.
A mentor will get to know his or her mentee, share their knowledge and be an active listener.
A mentor will serve as a resource and allocate his or her time and energy for the scheduled sessions.
A mentor will follow through on his or her commitments in order to promote a productive and enjoyable mentor/mentee relationship.

FERNANDA MONTES ARAUJO

Global Regulatory Capability & Learning Solution Lead

Fernanda's Bio

Fernanda is the Global Regulatory Capability & Learning Solution Lead at Sanofi. On her current role she has three main responsibilities: oversight of regulatory early talent program, support the regulatory organization through change management and foster an environment of continues learning by providing upskilling journeys globally.

Even having worked most of my time in Regulatory, she had different roles and scopes of work, from local and regional to global, and a large variety of experiences, from a purely regulatory dossier builder to global strategy leader around portfolio and process definitions. These different perspectives enabled her to broaden my knowledge about the companies she has worked on, enlarging her network and understanding about other areas and geographies.

Beyond her professional endeavors, Fernanda is a vibrant individual with a passion for personal development and community engagement. Her journey has been shaped by diverse experiences in different countries, that have not only enriched her career but also her personal life.

Fernanda is a travel-lover, passioned for different cultures and places, especially the beach, where she usually has peaceful moments in contact with nature. Her life purpose is to discover and explore.

Fernanda is Brazilian and lives in the United States since 2022. She graduated from Universidade de Sao Paulo (USP) in Pharmacy and Biochemistry and is a Certified Change Practitioner.

Michael J. George (Mike)

Head of R&D Patient Partnerships and Alliance Management

Mike's Bio

Michael J. George (Mike) is the Head of R&D Patient Partnerships and Alliance Management, a key role on the Patient Informed Development & Health Value Translation team within Sanofi R&D. Mike works to create and craft relationships with Patient Advocacy Groups & Organizations in order to bring patients’ voice, journey, and experience to ultimately help guide R&D decision making and ensure our development programs are rooted with patient input. Mike’s leadership role is one that he enjoys and is trusted to make smart, necessary, and accretive decisions in support of Sanofi’s research and development across the Specialty Care business unit. Mike has 12+ years of progressive work experience, primarily across Bio-Pharmaceutical businesses and pharmaceutical distribution.

Mike and his family live in Northern New Jersey and enjoy outdoor activities, traveling, making/trying new cuisines, and volunteering in programs in his town.

Mike believes mentoring is a critical skill set that every person should contribute to in their work-life as future generations should learn from the experiences and struggles of previous generations. Mike has previously been a mentor and volunteered across his church organization, INROADS, and through Rutgers.

Mike is a graduate of Rutgers Business School and is anticipating graduating with his Master of Business Administration (MBA) in the Spring of 2024 from The University of Iowa, Tippie College of Business.

Stefan Roehr

Lead Supply Chain for North America

Stefan's Bio

I have spent my entire career (35 years) with Sanofi. I started at Hoechst Roussel Pharmaceuticals in 1985 as a summer intern in Finance and worked for 4 years in this group. In 1989 I joined the company as a financial analyst and worked in Bridgewater until 1995. I then moved to Kansas City, Missouri and over the next 9 years worked in plant controlling, global product controlling (Allegra), and regional controlling (Americas Asia Pacific) for Hoechst Marion Roussel and then Aventis. In 2004 I moved to Frankfurt Germany to take over the role of Global Inventory Management and then subsequently worked in Paris in the role of Global Key Performance Indicator management for Sanofi-Aventis. In 2008 I worked and managed Supply Chain for Venezuela on a special assignment and this led to taking over Supply Chain for the Latam Zone (not including Mexico and Brazil). In 2010 I took on additional responsibility for managing the entire Latin American region for Supply Chain until 2012. In 2012 due to operational urgencies in the generic business, I was asked to assume specific responsibilities for operations in Brazil related to all supply chain activities across all GBUs as well as plant logistics. Finally, in 2016 I was nominated to lead Supply Chain for North America and assumed these responsibilities in Bridgewater, New Jersey.

I have lived extensively in Germany, England, the US, Venezuela, Panama, and Brazil. I have also worked extensively for Sanofi in over 60 countries in North America, Latin America, Africa, and Asia.

Joan Young

Head of Business Operations for Global Regulatory Operations

Joan's Bio

Joan Young is the Head of Business Operations for Global Regulatory Operations at Sanofi, where she focuses on vendor, financial, and resource management. Joan graduated from LaSalle University with a degree in accounting and began her career in auditing at a top public accounting firm. Her passion for travel led her to international opportunities early in her career.

Joan joined Sanofi 33 years ago, leveraging her audit experience to travel internationally. She initiated an international guest auditor program and exchanged positions with a colleague to take on a financial role at Sanofi’s French headquarters. Later, she served as Finance Director for a manufacturing facility in Singapore.

After nine years abroad, Joan returned to the USA, where she honed her negotiation and collaboration skills in alliance, merger, and acquisition deals. Her career evolved into roles of increasing responsibility, including Financial/ Business roles in external manufacturing, financial selling manufacturing capacity, alliance management, and transformation roles in vendor and resource management.

In her personal life, Joan is passionate about travel and family. She is married to a Brit, grew up in a large Italian American family, and has three college-age children. Joan enjoys exploring different cultures and cherishes any activity that involves her family.

JON FLORIO

Head of U.S. Brand and Reputation Communications

Jon's Bio

Jon is the Head of U.S. Brand and Reputation Communications at Sanofi where he leads communications strategy aimed at protecting and promoting Sanofi’s image in the US. As part of the Corporate Affairs function in Sanofi, Jon frequently works in cross-functional teams which include Public Affairs, State and Federal Government Relations, Policy, and more. In total, Jon has nearly 15 years of experience – 7 of which have been at Sanofi – in product, disease awareness, crisis, internal, and digital communications.

Beyond his pharmaceutical experience, Jon previously coached Ridge High School’s speech and debate team – his former school – for several years. He helped continue Ridge’s long legacy as the top program in New Jersey and coached several students to become State Champions and compete in Nationals.

Jon graduated from Penn State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Marketing and minor in International Business. On a personal level, Jon is married to his wife, Meg, and lives at home with his one-year-old daughter and two rescue dogs. In his off time, Jon enjoys taking trails and hikes with his family, drinking craft beer, riding his Peloton, and managing a social media account for his dogs.

CARLOS DELEON

Digital Manufacturing and Supply Functional Expert

Carlos's Bio

Carlos DeLeon is a Digital Manufacturing and Supply Functional Expert at Sanofi. His role involves partnering with the North America Supply Chain organization and acts as the Digital Manager for one of the US Distribution Centers that ensures the timely delivery and shipment of Sanofi products throughout the US. He started his career at Sanofi 10 years ago after multiple jobs at consulting organizations and major pharmaceutical companies over the past 30+ years. His jobs have taken him to travel the world as most projects and initiatives often involved colleagues of diverse locations, cultures, backgrounds, and knowledge. He is motivated by the very fact that many of these projects focus primarily on efforts that speed the delivery of life-saving products to the patients who need it most. To unwind, he loves to spend quality time with his family and friends, usually going out to eat and sampling a variety of different cuisines, especially dishes he has yet to try. He loves watching competitive sports in-person or TV and loves to try and participate many different individual or team sports when possible. He works out most days of the week at the local gym. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Management of Information Systems at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and his Masters of Information Management at Stevens Institute of Technology. He is married to his wife for almost 25 years and is very proud father to a daughter who recently graduated Summa Cum Laude at Seton Hall University and is a Fulbright Award Recipient, currently abroad spending a year teaching English as a second language.

ANDREW ZHANG

North America Quality Lead for Regional Quality Projects

Andrew's Bio

Andrew Zhang is the North America Quality Lead for Regional Quality Projects at Sanofi. He is responsible for developing and maintaining business, financial and strategic plans in support of the USA and Canada Quality Organizations working cross functionally with various areas to ensure compliance and delivery of key quality metrics. Andrew’s formal education includes a B.S. in Biomedical Engineering, and a Masters in Chemistry, and Business Administration. His diverse background lends him an often unique and strategic perspective on issues at work and in his personal life.

In his previous role as the Director of Quality Documentation and Training, Andrew developed a strong cross functional team that supported numerous quality systems across the US and Canada. Andrew’s is a nurturing and supportive leader who values goals and objectives as much as the wellness of a team. He strives for excellence and expects the same of his team, but will always be there to support and develop his team members.

In his personal life, Andrew is an avid tennis fan and player and is always in the market for a good doubles partner! He is passionate about cooking and traveling to new countries and takes frequent vacations to exotic destinations for their culinary delights. Andrew recently became a father and currently dedicates whatever free time he has enjoying every moment with his wife and new twins.

MANDA PASARKAR

Global Regulatory Affairs CMC leader

Manda's Bio

Manda is a Global Regulatory Affairs CMC leader; my job is empowering my team to achieve commercial development success for the medicinal products globally. My job requires to under to understand the worldwide regulations and negotiation with the health agency, so manufacturing sites able to continue manufacturing and avoid medicines shortages. I enjoy training and coaching team members and even sometimes the stakeholders on Sanofi ways of working.

This summer I am very much involve din gardening, had planted several plants and shrub. Also created a bird feeding area in front and back yard of my house. These days my yard is attracting several kinds of bird, its very satisfying to see them flying away and coming back next day.

MICHAEL FAULKNER

Operational Planning and Capacity Manager for Global Planning and Project Management

Michael's Bio

Michael Faulkner is an Operational Planning and Capacity Manager for Global Planning and Project Management organization at Sanofi. The team works with stakeholders in Research and Development to plan the activities needed to develop pharmaceutical products to secure health authorities approval and improve the lives of patients. The group is dedicated to integrating planning and resource management and utilizing data analytics to improve decision making.

Michael grew up in New York City and is a first-generation college graduate. His degree is in Biological Science. He utilized his love of music and sports to work with young people to reach their potential. As a brass musician, he instructed many young people in brass ensembles and music camps. In addition, he has coached at the middle and high school level in youth soccer.

His favorite activities are sports, jazz music and photography. He loves traveling with his family to different places and exploring the local history and culture.

Peg Bollella

Head of US General Medicines Scientific Communications & Medical Operations

Peg's Bio

Peg Bollella is the Head of US General Medicines Scientific Communications & Medical Operations at Sanofi. Her team is responsible for working cross functionally to develop and implement medical strategy for the product portfolio within US General Medicines Medical. This is a critical area of business for the Company involving scientific engagement with Health Care Providers (HCPs). Peg views her team as the engine within this Business Unit responsible for critical business activities including the translation of data into communication tools/assets, medical education, HCP engagement, Externally Sponsored Research, Publications and a new area of business, Omnichannel that includes the use of Artificial Intelligence. A key to the success of Peg’s highly engaged team is strongly linked to empowerment. Team members are highly encouraged to manage their individual areas of business lending opportunities to accelerate many aspects of individual growth including decision making, confidence, and most importantly motivation.

In her personal life, Peg is an avid ballroom dancer, loves swimming, reading and you will find her in the theater most weekends. Summer is a favorite time for an annual family reunion in Ocean City, NJ with frequent visits home to Annapolis, Maryland.

Peg obtained her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Florida.

TRACY LUTOLF

Associate Director, Field Execution

Tracy's Bio

Tracy Lutolf is currently an Associate Director, Field Execution responsible for overseeing the execution and delivery of strategic deliverables in Field Design & Deployment, Incentives and Execution adherence in the US Specialty Care Market. She is a people-centric leader who believes in the power of a positive mindset and that culture, and a sense of belonging are critical to a team’s success. Tracy has a passion for leadership excellence, and in her free time co-facilitates leadership development workshops with a focus on positive leadership and positive teams.

Tracy has a very eclectic career path that allows her to offer unique insights and practical advice to college students as they transition from the role of student into the professional world. She has worked with numerous students in and out of corporate settings and finds helping students navigate their career paths, develop their skills, and build their confidence incredibly rewarding. Whether its helping students build their personal brand, offering advice to refine a resume, preparing for interviews, or simply sharing insights into the industry, she is fueled by watching their growth and celebrating their success with them.

In her personal life, Tracy lives in central New Jersey and is most grateful for time spent with family and friends. She happily supports and enjoys her kids’ crazy sports schedules and school theater productions. She also loves music, Wordle, long walks with the family dog, audio books, playing games and doing puzzles.

Tracy has an MBA, Marketing from Farleigh Dickinson University, and a BA, Fashion Studies from Montclair State University.

JASVINDER GILL

Senior Medical Director for Diabetes

Jasvinder's Bio

Jasvinder (Jas) Gill is Senior Medical Director for Diabetes in the Established products team within General Medicines at Sanofi USA. In my current role as the diabetes lead in USA, internally partner with other functions withing Sanofi that include Global Medical EP team, NA EP team and US commercial to align on medical strategy and execution of medical plans. One of 5 daughters of immigrant parents (of high school education), whose goal is to ensure female equality and education for all. In my current role I am passionate about people development, ensuring strong interpersonal skill set and self-confidence. I have mentored Rutgers fellows within Sanofi to ensure they fully realize their potential for their individual career paths. In my spare time I travel the world with my family, volunteer at local events and internationally during my travels.

I graduated from the University of London School Medicine (Royal Free Hospital now UCL) with a PhD in Biochemistry.

SONIA KHULLAR

Regional Director for Inspection Management and Inspection Readiness

Sonia's Bio

Sonia Khullar is the Regional Director for Inspection Management and Inspection Readiness based at our US Bridgewater site in New Jersey, with a primary focus on Risk management and Inspection Readiness. Her pharmaceutical career spans roles in sales, medical liaison, independent medical education, as well as both commercial and medical training, covering areas from Emotional Intelligence, Conflict Management to Presentation and Communications skills. In recent years, she has held leadership positions in operational management and auditing, with a current focus on risk management and inspection readiness at Sanofi. Sonia is actively involved in strategic contributions from supporting REMS launch readiness for new products and works transversally across various regionally and globally functions.

She holds a PhD in Medicinal Chemistry and has several publications in key scientific journals, in Cancer research and has taught in the field of HIV/AIDS.

Outside of work, she enjoys family time, especially guiding and supporting her twin middle-schoolers. She is passionate about learning new languages and is currently studying French. Additionally, she dedicates time to volunteering, as part of her commitment to giving back to the community.

SUKU MURAMULA

Senior Solution Architect

Suku's Bio

Suku Muramula is a seasoned Senior Solution Architect with a passion for mentoring, driven by a deep belief in the transformative power of education and guidance.

With nearly three decades of experience in leading digital, data, and AI transformations in top biopharma and financial organizations, Suku has a profound understanding of the critical skills needed to excel in the rapidly evolving fields of technology and AI. His contributions include publishing of numerous technology focused articles and conducting webinars aimed at accelerating digital and AI adoption.

Suku holds a master’s degree in Technology Management from Columbia University and a master’s degree in Information Systems from Stevens Institute of Technology. He has honed a comprehensive approach to leading strategic planning, anticipating potential challenges, and developing innovative solutions that are secure, compliant, robust and cost-effective.

His mentoring efforts are focused on guiding students through career challenges and opportunities, sharing insights, fostering critical thinking, and inspiring the next generation of technologists and AI experts.

Suku sees mentoring as a two way street that keeps him connected with emerging trends and fresh perspectives, aligning with his commitment to lifelong learning and giving back to the community. This is especially true in a college setting, where he aims to help students build the confidence and tools they need to succeed.

JESSYE COTTER

Dupixent Respiratory Communications, Specialty Care

Jessye's Bio

Jessye Cotter joined Sanofi in early 2024 as Dupixent Respiratory Communications, Specialty Care. In this role, Jessye is responsible for leading global communications strategies that advance business goals across the Dupixent respiratory franchise, with a laser focus on contributing to the best-in-class worldwide launch of Dupixent for COPD.

Jessye is a seasoned healthcare communications professional and business leader with expertise in scientific and data-driven communications, corporate and brand strategic positioning, franchise-level support, issues and crisis management, product lifecycle support and disease awareness initiatives. Her agency background has enabled her to work across several therapeutic areas, including COVID-19, gene therapy, ophthalmology, rare disease, oncology, diabetes, cardiology and women’s health.

Over the last several years, Jessye has supported clients in more than 50 U.S. and global data and regulatory milestones, helping to bring some of the most important therapeutic treatments to market. In her most recent role, Jessye was responsible for the strategic development of Pfizer’s award-winning, global campaign Know Plan Go, to educate people around the globe on high risk factors for COVID-19 and the need for appropriate treatment.

When she’s not working, Jessye enjoys practicing yoga and running (i.e., will run for a good cause). She lives in Morristown, NJ with her husband, two young boys and a French bulldog, “Donut.”
