WHAT IS THE ROLE OF A MENTEE?
A mentee is an individual who receives advice, assistance and feedback from a more experienced person over a set period of time, resulting in the enhancement of the mentee’s educational and professional endeavors. The mentee must have clear goals and be willing to accept guidance and advice in order for the relationship to be successful. A mentee is open to constructive feedback and has a desire to learn and develop new skills to progress in their graduate education.
Congratulations to the mentees in the Sanofi Corporate Mentor Program at RVCC for the 2024-2025 academic year.
Abdelrahman Ahmed
Computer Engineering
Hello, my name is Abdelrahman Ahmed, and I am currently an international student at Raritan Valley Community College. I am a computer engineering major. Once I receive my associate degree, I plan on transferring to a four-year university and focusing on Hardware Computer Engineering. I am passionate about technology and trying to engage it in workspaces to solve complex problems and innovate in various fields. After earning a bachelor’s degree, I plan on working with companies as a control systems engineer or a director of IT. While working, I plan to attend graduate school and earn a master’s degree. Due to limited funds for being an international student, this will be challenging but I believe in myself. For that reason, I seize every opportunity I get.
Outside of academics, I would say I have a diverse range of hobbies and interests. I enjoy listening to music, hiking, going outdoors, long road trips, and photography. By far, my favorites are sports and going to the gym. I have been a pro-swimmer for almost 12 years now. I also did track and field for 3 years on the side.
I am looking forward to meeting all the people involved in the Sanofi Corporate Mentor Program. I plan on acquiring as many skills as possible and establishing networking relationships to learn as much as I can from my mentor and their peers. I see this program as a valuable opportunity to obtain real-world knowledge and ideas from industry experts. I deeply value having a mentor who can guide me through the complexities of the tech industry and help me approach my career goals.
